Paul specialises in high level criminal defence work, including terroism, fraud, murder, armed robbery, firearms, sexual offences, extradition, theft, white collar crime offences involving large scale drugs supply, asset forfeiture/restraint and road traffic offences.  His case work has included a number of high profile cases involving the defence of individuals in the public eye and he is experienced in dealing with the associated press attention.  Paul is a respected member of the profession and is frequently asked to commentate on  issues arising in cases that attract media attention.

Paul's notable cases include the Red Mercury terrorist case,(VHCC) in which he successfully defended one of the men accused of attempting to purchase materials for use in terrorism from the News of the World journalist known as the Fake Sheikh (R v Kanyare).
